In the first race tonight there was a couple of scratchings and one of those Cowboy Road was moved into the second event.  Reggie Ledgie who was starting off the front mark was giving his handler a hard time and jumping around.

Turning for home Reggie Ledgie had a good lead over Magpie Mary who was leading the remainder of the field up which were Westbury Bogart, Born To Be Wild and Aadelaidee Lady in last position.   At the 200 metre mark Madison Smith said go on Aadelaidee Lady and gobbled all the ponies up in the straight coming from last to first placing.  Aadelaidee Lady won by ½ length from Born To Be Wild with a length back to Reggie Ledgie 3rd and a further 3 metres back to Westbury Bogart sneaking through on the rails to beat Magpie Mary by a half head.

There was a newcomer in the second event a shetland named Cowboy Road who started 10 metres in front of the front marker Lord Monty.  Lord Monty overtook Cowboy Road in a few strides after they said go and Cowboy Road wasn’t impressed and had a little buck but settled back trotting quickly.

Turning out of the back straight Lord Monty was trotting nicely out in front from Cowboy Road, Wynkie Sweet Fairytales, Little Kizz, Summer Surprise and a gap back to Mr Mischief, Mr Murphy and Way to Go all in a row.

As the field was catching Cowboy Road at the tip of the bend he appeared to take fright of a shadow and did a right hand turn into Summer Surprise and Sharni Newman, Little Kizz and Christie Gilbert had to restrain and go inside and with Cowboy Road standing at right angles on the track Mr Mischief had to go inside the pegs and Way To Go swung wide.  Good reflexes by all our drivers everybody made it safely past.  Cowboy Road got going again and finished the race in last placing.  After the scrimmage it definitely broke the field up leaving Lord Monty out in front with Wynkie Sweet Fairytales about to make a move.  Wynkie Sweet Fairytales made amends after last week and trotted to the line in fine fashion for Brodie Webster to win ahead of Lord Monty and Summer Surprise for 3rd.

PJ trotted off nicely from his front mark ahead of Swamp Fire, Eddy’s A Fake, Ben Ten with a gap back to Midnight Star another gap back to My Little Pony and a further gap back to Wandarra Tess making ground off the back mark.  At the 100 metre mark PJ continued out in front and the order of the field hadn’t changed but they were closing in on him fast.  Swamp Fire hit the lead with 10 metres to go ahead of Eddy’s A Fake and the fast finishing Midnight Star for 3rd just grabbing PJ on the line.

Petti Cheval was off the front mark and trotted away nicely with Chilli Knights, Monkey Business and Little Paleface all close up.  Coming around the bend the order hadn’t changed since the start of the race.  Hitting the home straight Brodie Webster on Chilli Knights was tossing up whether to go for the sprint lane or around Petti Cheval but decided to pull wide.  It was a close finish on the line with Petti Cheval hanging on to win ahead of Little Paleface on the outside and Chilli Knights in the centre for 3rd.  Monkey Business was 10 metres back and Cheeky Charlie who started off the back, was cheeky and didn’t want to trot so finished down the track.
