When the flag dropped all six ponies trotted away nicely with PJ out in front for Candice Prior who was having her first ever drive, Razzle Dazzle was next in the running followed by little Swamp Fire, Loosen Up Lewie, Jessiefoss and the back marker Mr Mysterious.

 

Coming around the bend into the home straight PJ still had a handy lead over both Razzle Dazzle and Swamp Fire, Jessiefoss was pulled to the outside to make his run up towards the lead, both Loosen Up Lewie and Mr Mysterious were making up good ground.

 

Coming down to line PJ had a nice margin over the rest of the field and went on to win, Loosen Up Lewie and Jessiefoss battled out the placings.

 

The final results were – 1st PJ and Candice Prior; 2nd Jessiefoss and Alyssa Cappelluti and 3rd Loosen Up Lewie and Jakeb Allen.

 

Congratulations to Candice Prior for driving her first winner of the season. Well done!!

 

RACE  2 – GAWLER RIVER CATTLE CO TROT

All seven ponies stepped away with Born To Be Wild in front from Little Kizz, So What, Chocolate Thunder, Cowboy Road, Aadelaidee Lady and Summer Surprise.

 

Half way around the turn Born To Be Wild was narrowly in front from So What and Chocolate Thunder who was edging closer and Aadelaidee Lady was pulled to the outside to make her run and soon took over the lead from Born To Be Wild.

 

Coming down the straight Aadelaidee Lady was trotting to perfection in front, So What and Chocolate Thunder were trying their hardest to pick up the lead and Summer Surprise was making up plenty off ground from the back mark.

 

Aadelaidee Lady who is having a very consistent season went on to win by 20 metres.

 

The final results were – 1st Aadelaidee Lady and Madison Smith; 2nd So What and Jennifer Lehmann and 3rd Summer Surprise and Cheyenne Moritz.

 

RACE  3 – GAWLER RIVER CATTLE CO SHETLAND TROT

Spike It Up stepped away nicely to be the early leader over Midnight Star, White Lightning, Ben Ten, Crackerjack, Wandarra Tess and Jimmy Cricket.

 

Spike It Up was trotting out in front and was trying to make every post a winner coming into the home straight, Midnight Star and Wandarra Tess both pulled to the outside to dish out the challenge to this leader while Ben Ten slipped through between the ponies.

 

Half way down the running it was the two back markers Wandarra Tess and Jimmy Cricket who batted it out in the finish.

 

The final results were – 1st Wandarra Tess and Jacinta Gilbert; 2nd Jimmy Cricket and Chantelle Rendall and 3rd Crackerjack and Kaycee Carey.

 

RACE  4 – GAWLER RIVER CATTLE CO TROT

With the final race of the night pushed back over the long distance of 800m. With only a small field of five taking to the track. When the flag dropped Aussie begun nicely from Lapanacaton, Way To Go, Mr Mischief and Wynkie Sweet Fairytales.

 

Turning into the back the straight Aussie was over taken by Way To Go, who controlled the race from there, Mr Mischief was making good ground around the outside, both Aussie and Lapanacaton were trotting nicely behind and Wynkie Sweet Fairytales was starting to catch the field up.

 

The order didn’t change down the back. Coming down the home straight Way To Way was still out in front and put 20 metres on the rest, Lapanacaton, Mr Mischief and Wynkie Sweet Fairytales were all there for the placings.

 

The final results were – 1st Way To Go and Jennifer Lehmann; 2nd Wynkie Sweet Fairytales and Chantelle Rendall and 3rd Mr Mischief and Bailey Hoare.
