The first event was made up of shetlands with PJ starting off the front mark and Pee Wee 50 thinking he should be re-handicapped so run backwards at the start losing considerable ground.

Two Tone Miss took over the lead at the 200 metre mark from little PJ (Bryce Gilbert) who needed some slippers as he had sore feet today with a margin back to Eddy’s A Fake making a run on the outside of Razzle Dazzle (Christie Gilbert), Pee Wee 50 (Shaniah Ogilvy) and Its All About Me about (Chantelle Rendall) to sprint down the outside.

Two Tone Miss won by a length from Wandarra Tess who came from nowhere to get up and run 2nd with half a length back to Its All About Me on inside, 10 metres back to Eddy’s A Fake and further 10 metres back to Ben Ten, PJ and Crackerjack crossing the line together.

Razzle Dazzle and Pee Wee 50 didn’t want to run today and finished behind the field.

The final placings were Two Tone Miss (Jayden Brewin) first, Wandarra Tess (Jacinta Gilbert) second and Its All About Me (Chantelle Rendall) third.

Crackerjack replaced Magpie Mary in the fields today and started off the front mark with Westbury Bogart hot on his heels in the early stages of the race.

On the home turn Westbury Bogart pulled to the outside of Crackerjack and looked like going straight past him with a 30 metre gap back to Chilli Knights.

Crackerjack (Kaycee Carey) kicked away close to the line to win by a length from Chilli Knights (Chantelle Rendall) and Westbury Bogart (Shannon Platts) with a gap back to a deadheat between Way To Go on the inside and Little Kizz on the outside, the judge and DVD couldn’t separate them.  Young Bailey Hoare on Mr Mischief showed a nice piece of driving by heading to the rails after turning for home, then a long gap back to Petti Cheval and a further long gap back to last nights winner Cowboy Road.

After Pee Wee 50’s misdemeanour in the first event he started off the front mark and this time led all the way and never looked back.

It appeared to be a two section race in the third event with the shetlands in one race and the larger ponies in the other.

Pee Wee 50 did a complete turn around and bolted in for Shaniah Ogilvy with Two Tone Miss (Jayden Brewin) second, Eddy’s A Fake (Jodie Billinger) third and then the second string of ponies Mr Mischief flashing home for fourth and Razzle Dazzle getting tired for young Bryce Gilbert having his first ever drive on him.  Bryce took over the drive of Razzle Dazzle after scratching his little pony PJ from the event.

Kapunda Harness Racing Club Committee member Stephen Norman took to the microphone in the final event today and did a fabulous job calling the pony race and making sure he named all our wonderful sponsors.

There were three ponies which started off the same mark Cowboy Road, Little Kizz and Westbury Bogart.  Little Kizz and Westbury Bogart were the best to get away with a large gap back to Wandarra Tess, Lapanacaton and Way To Go sticking together.

Little Kizz turned for home in front of Westbury Bogart, Cowboy Road and Wandarra Tess.

Little Kizz (Christie Gilbert) went on to be an easy winner from Westbury Bogart (Shannon Platts) with Wandarra Tess (Jacinta Gilbert) a neck away in third placing.  Way To Go who looked like it was matching it with Wandarra Tess down the straight finished 2 lengths behind.

It is worth noting that Wandarra Tess is a Shetland and Way To Go is one of our faster ponies so those little legs on Tess can run a hundred miles an hour!
