With Jerry and Nicola Bowditch being a scratching for this meeting, a field of 5 ponies and drivers went round the track for the running of the Mil Lel Gardening Services pony trot.

RACE 1: Mil Lel Gardening Services Pony Trot
Flying off the start was Slim Dusty and Evie Sealey. Blaze had the job of carting the rest of the field in pursuit of Slim Dusty. Backmarkers, Jackim (Jacob Opperman) and Minty (Jessica Shepherd) off the 600 metre mark worked hard to make ground. Bryce Bygate on Marmalade was off the 570 metre mark, having only his third drive in the sulky at Greenwald Paceway, but they were unable to catch the leaders. First went to midfielder, Courtney Sealey and Blaze, second Slim Dusty (Evie Sealey), Minty raced home for third ahead of Jackim (Jacob Opperman) and Marmalade (Bryce Bygate).

RACE 2: Opperman Thoroughbred Racing Stables Marathon Race

In a first for the season, now the ponies are fitter than ever, a marathon pony race was held over 800 metres. With just five starters and a change of drivers, Amber Formosa took to the track on Slim Dusty. When the starter said go Slim Dusty, hit the ground running. In a bold mid race move, Blaze took the lead at the 400 metre mark, Marmalade with Bryce Bygate waited patiently on the back of the leaders. Back markers, Minty and Jackim worked hard all race just to make more ground on the leaders. As they swung for home, Marmalade took the sprint lane to swamp the leaders to take out the win in a very tight finish. Blaze (C. Sealey) took the second, Slim Dusty (A.
Formosa) for third followed by Jackim (J. Opperman) and Minty (J. Shepherd).
