Seven ponies competed on Saturday night in The Tack Room Handicap at the Greenwald Paceway all eager to claim prizes & to win points toward Pony of the Year.

Abbey Gull in the gig behind Willow put in a faultless drive pushing her pony off the front to lead. Frankie Under Fire with Matthew Shepherd who under hard driving  was closing the gap down the straight.

Marmalade let down well in the straight  & trotted home faultlessly for 3rd ahead of Slim Dusty (Stacey Barker), Minty (Hayley Greenfield), Snoopy (Kylie Shepherd) & Pumpkin who found the new handicap beyond her (Emma Greenfield).

The Glencoe Pony Cup sponsored by the Glencoe Community & Millicent Stockfeed & Saddlery was a repeat performance with Willow and a very happy Abbey Gull taking out the double.

Willow was able to overcome his new handicap making each post a winner to finish ahead of Frankie Under Fire (Matthew Shepherd) who tried desperately to run the leader down in the straight.

Minty driven by Hayley Greenfield powered home to put in a better performance to come in 3rd followed by Marmalade, Slim Dusty, Pumpkin & Snoopy.

This was Willows second cup for the season and was presented with a pony rug donated by Millicent Stockfeed & Saddlery.

Willow will be shooting for his third consecutive Mini-trotting cup for the season next week with the running of the Naracoorte Cup sponsored by Greg Scholefield

With 3 more meetings to the end of the season the ponies & drivers are eagerly trying to score points for Pony of the Year. Only 9 points separate the top 4 ponies.
